PHOENIX — The Arizona Humane Society says they’re working with police to investigate who left five puppies inside a duffel bag inside a Phoenix dumpster.
AHS says the puppies were found Monday near 7th Avenue and Baseline Road inside a discarded black duffel bag.
Unfortunately, two of the puppies did not survive the incident. Three, however, were examined and are recovering well.
All three are female Chihuahua mixes, believed to be around 11 weeks old.
The Arizona Humane Society says the puppies will be available for adoption Thursday at their Sunnyslope Campus at 11 a.m. and adopters will need to be present to adopt.
ABC15 has reached out to Phoenix police for more information into the investigation.
