Did you see thick smoke off the I-10 on your commute home Thursday afternoon?

Phoenix Fire Department was dispatched to the scene of a house fire near 43rd Avenue and Encanto Boulevard.

A tower of black smoke could be seen from the I-10 near 67th Avenue. Around 5 p.m., Air15 video showed firefighters putting out remaining hot spots.

Fire officials say when crews arrived, there were explosions coming from the back of the house where most of the fire was concentrated. Vehicles in the backyard and a large part of the home were seen completely blackened and burned.

Heavy fire was reported inside the home as well as in the attic, so crews cut a ventilation hole in the roof to help keep the heat down.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire. There is no word what caused the fire to start.
