To celebrate the first scare of the year, Fear Farm and The 13th Floor Haunted House are opening Friday night with a charity event at both locations.

These Fall-time attractions will feature themes, actors, special effects and new "haunt" technology.

Fear Farm is one of Phoenix's largest Halloween events, produced by the Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group. This attraction takes place in a cornfield near 99th Avenue and Encanto, where visitors attempt to find their way out despite the "terrors" of the maze.

The haunted corn maze has bee a traditional Halloween site for visitors for the past 15 years in Phoenix and is recommended for all ages.

The 13th Floor Haunted House is targeted toward older visitors, where participants are led on haunted walkthroughs run by more than 100 costumed actors. This attraction is an intense, graphic theatrical show that encompasses more than 60,000 square feet of the haunted house.

Located at Bell Road and Holmes, The 13th Floor Haunted House is the winner of the Haunt World Top 13 for the past five years and was named one of the best haunts in the nation by Fangoria Magazine.
