The Federal Bureau of Investigation is searching for a man suspected of robbing two banks Friday evening.

A release from the bureau said authorities responded to a bank near 35th Avenue and Northern in Phoenix around 6 p.m. About an hour later, there was a second robbery at a bank near 75th Avenue and Cactus in Peoria.

Surveillance images provided by the FBI show the suspect wearing a black Pittsburgh Steelers hat and a black long-sleeved shirt or jacket. He is described as a white man between 25 and 35 years old, 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 150 to 180 pounds.

In both robberies, he entered the branch and displayed a note demanding money and implying he had a weapon. No weapon was ever displayed, authorities said and no injuries were reported.

Anyone with information about the suspect's identity is asked to contact the FBI at 623-466-1999, Silent Witness at 480-948-6377, or submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov. Those reporting information can remain anonymous.
