A man who had been dubbed the “Chedda Bandit” was arrested Thursday in connection with four bank robberies across the Valley over the last few weeks.
FBI spokeswoman Jill McCabe said Peoria police, along with members of the FBI Phoenix Violent Crime Task Force, arrested 25-year-old Brian Matthew Wertz, as well as 22-year-old Shantel Marie Poisson, who was acting as Wertz's getaway driver.
In all four robberies, the suspect presented a demand note to the teller but never showed a weapon. Even so, the suspect had been considered armed and dangerous.

Both Wertz and Poisson were taken into custody on robbery charges, and additional charges could follow, McCabe said.
