A driver, who officials believe was impaired, crashed into two vehicles in Phoenix early Sunday morning after leading troopers on a pursuit.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a PT Cruiser was driving aggressively on Interstate 17. A trooper tried to pull over the driver near 7th Avenue, and the woman appeared to be pulling over but then fled. Troopers were led on a pursuit and followed the woman up until she got off the freeway at 19th Avenue. That's when the pursuit was terminated.

Witnesses say the woman ran a red light at 19th and Grant avenues.

The woman's vehicle collided with two other cars that were driving through the green light. Two passengers in a sedan were injured and suffered broken bones, DPS said. The driver of the PT Cruiser was also injured and sustained broken bones.

DPS does believe the woman was impaired and driving under the influence, however they are still investigating.
