Driver sought after deadly pedestrian collision in downtown Phoenix

Police are investigating a deadly pedestrian crash overnight in downtown Phoenix.

The incident happened just before midnight on Monday in the area of 10th Avenue and Jefferson Street.

According to police, two men were seen arguing with people inside a vehicle and pounding on the hood of the car. The driver then reportedly backed up while the pedestrians followed before pulling forward, hitting one of them.

The driver left the scene in an older model white car and the victim was taken to the hospital where he died.

The deceased man is believed to be in his mid-30s and may have been homeless as he had a cart full of items with him.The car is described as an older model white vehicle.
