A pursuit suspect arrested Saturday night had marijuana in his car, and an unrestrained child, according to court paperwork.

A DPS official said 32-year-old Vidal Ruvalcaba refused to stop when he was seen speeding by a trooper near the Loop 202 and 32nd Street around 10:30 p.m.

Troopers followed Ruvalcaba, and eventually spiked the vehicle’s tires near State Route 51 and Glendale Avenue to get him to stop, according to court paperwork.

DPS then arrested Ruvalcaba, who admitted to having marijuana in his vehicle. DPS says they also found a child in a car seat that was unrestrained during the arrest. No injuries were reported to the child.

Ruvalcaba was arrested on felony flight, endangerment, possession of marijuana and an outstanding warrant.
