A female driver's vehicle was shot at with a paintball gun Friday as she was driving down the freeway.

The woman told Arizona Department of Public Safety dispatch that she was driving northbound on Interstate 17 south of 7th Street around 12:30 p.m. when another driver shot her vehicle three times with a paintball gun.

She told DPS that she saw the driver's rear window go down and then heard three "pops." She had blue paint marks on her vehicle, but no other damage was reported.

The suspect vehicle did not stop and continued northbound on I-17, she reportedly told DPS. The vehicle was described as a newer black or grey Dodge Charger.

Troopers looked for the vehicle, but did not find it. DPS said the woman did not want a report since her vehicle was not damaged.

No other details were released.
