Either it's bad timing, or the Friday night dinner rush was too much for Doordash.
Around 5:15 p.m. Arizona time Friday, the website and platforms surrounding Doordash crashed, according to the food delivery company's Twitter account. Before that, many customers said they had been waiting hours for deliveries that never showed up.
Many restaurants that don't have their own delivery platform rely on Doordash to deliver food across the country, and with stay-at-home orders, delivery systems are seeing unprecedented traffic.
Many customers took to Twitter after completed orders turned into error messages.
@ChipotleTweets is my order still going to be delivered when DoorDash is down? Getting no updates about my delivery right now .... pic.twitter.com/Ijmc7xitpw

It appears the Doordash platforms returned around 6 p.m. but many orders were extremely delayed or canceled. Expect delays if you attempt to order deliver online during the dinner rush.
