The Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board has fired its longtime executive director.

Lyle Mann was placed on immediate administrative leave after Wednesday's closed-door meeting.

His termination becomes effective Friday.

Mann has been with AZ POST for about 21 years.

Created by the state Legislature in July 1968, AZ POST is the agency charged with maintaining police standards and integrity for all peace officers in Arizona.
