PHOENIX — A Phoenix store, already struggling with sales due to COVID, is now forced to recover after being burglarized Wednesday night.

Nathalie Velasquez, owner of Nathalie and Co. in north Phoenix, tells ABC15 the burglars took money, clothes and caused thousands of dollars in damage.

The Thanksgiving Eve thieves broke into her small business near 19th Avenue and Deer Valley Road Wednesday night.

Despite her loss, Nathalie is grateful this Thanksgiving, thanks to her loyal customers, and even strangers, who have stepped in to help out.

In less than 24 hours, a GoFundMe has raised more than $2,200 to help Nathalie recover from the devastating loss.

"I was like, that would be awesome if we could get like $200 for some cameras. And just try to recover cleaning supplies and hangers," she said. "So it's very overwhelming. I'm deeply touched and incredibly thankful."

The small business owner says she is hopeful "Small Business Saturday" will also help bring in new customers and offset her losses. She told ABC15 the pandemic has already taken its toll on her livelihood, due to declining sales.

As for the suspects, there is no description and they are still on the run.
