Hundreds of people are going to be in Phoenix attending an international Samba Queen and King competition in October.
Angelique Starks from Samba AZ says she wanted to create the event for a sense of community and give Samba dancers everywhere a place to gather.
This year's competition, Rainha e Rei do Samba 2015, is the second one and attendees have doubled since last year.
The competition takes place at 9 p.m. on October 3 at The Pressroom, but workshops will be held for several days.
If you would like to attend, tickets are $20 each. It is a 21-and-older event. Get more information and purchase tickets here.
