An Arizona lawmaker indicted on food stamp fraud charges is scheduled to stand trial in November.

A Maricopa County commissioner on Wednesday set a Nov. 1 trial date for State Rep. Cecilia "Ceci" Velasquez.

Velasquez was indicted in June by a state grand jury on felony counts of fraud, theft and unlawful use of food stamps.

The indictment alleges Velasquez fraudulently obtained $1,726 in food stamp benefits between Nov. 1, 2013 and Jan. 31, 2015.

If convicted of a felony, Velasquez would automatically be ineligible to hold office because she would lose her voting rights.

The Litchfield Park Democrat is serving her first term in the Arizona House. That term ends in January.

Velasquez dropped her re-election bid after being indicted.
