A longtime Mexican restaurant in Phoenix will close its doors at the end of the month — the latest Valley eatery to shut down in recent weeks.

Los Compadres, which has operated at 23rd and Northern avenues for 34 years, will close July 31, restaurant owners said this week.

The concept will transition to a catering and group ordering model, said owners David and Annie Valdivia.

The couple did leave open the possibility of reopening physical restaurants in the future.
