17-year-old arrested for deadly hit-and-run in Phoenix

PHOENIX - A teenager suspected of a deadly hit-and-run has been taken into custody in Phoenix.

Phoenix police said the 17-year-old suspect was taken into custody at 2:30 p.m. near 4th Avenue and Madison Street. 

The suspect is accused of stealing a vehicle near 48th Street and McDowell Road on September 9. 

According to police, the suspect used the victim’s vehicle to strike the victim. When officers arrived on the scene they located 34-year-old Mario Cordova. He transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
