PHOENIX — Police are searching for a suspect after two people were assaulted early Friday morning during a party at a Phoenix home.

Phoenix police said they responded to the scene near 49th and Campbell avenues just after 4 a.m.

There was reportedly a party going on in the back yard of a home in the area when a fight broke out.

According to Sgt. Armando Carbajal, responding officers found two victims who had been physically assaulted.

Both victims were transported to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unclear.

Police initially told ABC15 one person had been shot and was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officials later clarified that what was initially thought to be a gunshot wound was found by medics to be a "hole" in the victim's body, but it is unclear how it got there or how it was caused.

Video from the scene showed multiple police units in the neighborhood as of 5 a.m.

Police say the suspect is still on the loose and officers are currently looking for a Chevy Tahoe. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
