A wildfire burning northwest of Sedona has spread to 230 acres in size.

Approximately 100 fire personnel are working to contain the Sycamore Fire in the Sycamore Canyon Wilderness. The blaze was first reported on Monday.

According to an Arizona Interagency Wildfire Prevention map on Wednesday morning, the fire has grown from 75 to 230 acres, and is now 40 percent contained.

The Coconino National Forest says the fire continues to burn in rugged terrain that consists mostly of pinyon-juniper.

Officials say the origin of the fire is on the west side of the canyon, on the Prescott National Forest, 14 miles northwest of Sedona.

The blaze has been kept to the west side of the canyon, officials say light winds are pushing smoke toward the west and northwest.

The wildfire is believed to be human-caused, but no additional details have been released.

So far no structures are threatened.
