PD: Suspect fires at officers at Prescott Valley park

Officials are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Prescott Valley.

The shooting happened just before 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Mountain Valley Park.

According to Prescott Valley Police Department, officers were conducting an investigation at the park when a suspect fired several rounds at the officers.

Police said officers returned fire and took the suspect into custody in a neighborhood near the park.

The suspect sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The officers involved in the incident did not sustain any serious injuries.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety will investigate the shooting.
