Chino Valley Police say a 27-year-old man was jailed for DUI and aggravated assault after an ATV accident that injured two children over the weekend.

Travis Ely was booked into Yavapai County Jail after being released from the hospital on Saturday.

Police say Ely was driving a quad in Chino Valley with two kids under the age of 10. The quad was reportedly involved in a rollover crash. A witness said he had to pull the quad off of Ely and the kids, who were all injured, before a woman ran over, cursed at Ely, and took the kids to a nearby home.

Ely took off on the quad as police were responding. When they located him at the home, they noticed signs of impairment.

Both children were taken to the hospital and Ely was arrested, but later flown to a Phoenix hospital for treatment.

After Ely was released from care, he was re-arrested and booked into jail on two counts of aggravated DUI, two counts of endangerment, leaving the scene of an injury crash and two counts of aggravated assault.
