Authorities say a Gilbert teen was killed in an off-road vehicle crash over the weekend.
According to the Gila County Sheriff's Office, a 16-year-old boy and his friend were riding in a Side by Side Saturday afternoon at Schoolhouse Point, on the southern side of Roosevelt Lake.
The vehicle flipped over on top of the teen. He was airlifted to a Valley hospital where he later died, officials said.
The sheriff's office said it was waiting to release the victim's name because family members had not yet been notified.
