MCSO: Kingman man dead after Mohave County Sheriff shooting

A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Mohave County on Saturday.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said the deputy responded to the 3500 block of Gordon Avenue in Kingman for a call that resulted in the shooting death of a 34-year-old man.

According to the Bullhead City Police Department, the deputy performed a traffic stop on a vehicle around 12 a.m.

Police say the man, Kenneth Jack Kennedy, attempted to flee in his vehicle, striking two police vehicles and began driving toward a deputy. The deputy fired at the suspect, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kennedy’s wife was also in the vehicle at the time of the incident, but was not injured.

The deputy will be on administrative leave during the investigation being conducted by the Bullhead City Police Department.

As standard procedure, the deputy has been placed on administrative leave following the shooting incident.
