A couple is looking for their dog after a rollover near Flagstaff Friday afternoon.

The Department of Public Safety confirmed a truck pulling a travel trailer was involved in an injury collision on Interstate 40 at milepost 225, roughly 20 miles east of Flagstaff.

According to one of the victims, Cathy Chang, both her and her husband were treated for injuries, but made it out safely, thanks to witnesses who assisted on scene.

Her husband, Tucker Williams, even posted a long thank you on an ABC15 Facebook wall post saying, “We're very very thankful for the literally dozens of people who stopped to help us immediately, otherwise we might have been injured much more than we are.”

Unfortunately, they were traveling with their beloved dog, Piper, who escaped the vehicle after the crash and fled the area. Piper is a younger Border Collie mix wearing a pink collar with tags.

Now, the couple is desperately looking for their pup and are asking for the public’s assistance in locating her.

"We adopted her in March, and since then, it's just become really clear that she's more than just a part of our family, she's the closest we'll know to what it's like to have a kid," Chang said.

The family stayed in town in an attempt to locate her.

Piper has mainly lived in Texas with her family and is not used to the cold conditions.

Piper is micro chipped and registered with the Border Collie Rescue and Rehab located in Texas.

A Texas rescue group is offering a $1,000 for anyone who helps locate her.

Anyone with information about the dog's whereabouts should call Cathy at 214-529-4815.
