Arizona Snowbowl has officially opened. Snowbowl opened Saturday morning around 10 a.m.

Crews worked around the clock to ensure an early as possible opening day.

“Thanks to the hard-working mountain team who have been working around
the clock making snow and grooming the slopes, we are excited to
announce that Arizona Snowbowl will open for the ski season at 10am
today with our new high-speed, six-person lift,”  stated J.R. Murray,
Arizona Snowbowl’s general manager.  “The high-speed Grand Canyon
Express marks a huge milestone for Snowbowl, giving skiers more time
on the slopes at a greater value with access to some of the best
skiing in the state.”

This is good news considering they were unsure if they would be able to open at all this weekend.

On Friday, Arizona Snowbowl said it would not open as planned as overnight conditions were warmer than they thought. However, "snowmakers and cat operators continue to work throughout the day to make snow as conditions permit," they said.

Thankfully, it appears all the hard work paid off and Snowbowl took its first customers Saturday morning.
