How do you spell "awesome?"

N-i-c-o-l-a.

As in, Nicoloa Ferguson, the Scottsdale teen who is Arizona's sole remaining representative in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Nicola spelled her way through the preliminary rounds to land a spot with 44 other spellers in the finals.

The 13-year-old, seventh grader at Sunrise Middle School successfully spelled "kanban" in Round Two.

After spelling "bibliography" correctly in Round Three, Nicola had to wait a few, scary minutes to see if her written test score would be enough to land her in the Finals.

It was.

You can cheer on Nicola and all the contestants in the Scripps National Spelling Bee Thursday at 7 a.m. on ESPN2.
