SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A Scottsdale medical worker has been arrested, accused of sexually assaulting a woman who was under sedation.

Scottsdale police say that on January 25, 38-year-old Xavier Uziel Perez, a worker at Integrated Pain Consultants, was responsible for caring for a 48-year-old woman who was under sedation. The woman was getting treatment to relieve back pain.

As the woman regained consciousness, she says she was being sexually assaulted by Perez.

Police responded, and after several months, were able to gather enough evidence to confirm the victim’s account of events.

During interview after his arrest, Perez allegedly admitted to the sexual assault.

“This wasn’t a case where we had someone who saw what happened, where we had video that was 100 percent conclusive with what took place, and we have to rely on forensic and in this case DNA,” said Officer Kevin Watts, a Scottsdale Police Department spokesman.

Police say Perez has worked at every Valley location of Integrated Pain Consultants at one point in time.

Perez is currently being held in custody.

Police urge anyone who may have been a victim of sexual assault by Perez, or anyone with any information, to call the Scottsdale Police Department at 480-312-5000.
