Scottsdale police identify man killed in hit-and-run

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Police have identified a man killed in a hit-and-run crash in Scottsdale Wednesday night.

The incident happened around 10:50 p.m. near Scottsdale Road and Shea Boulevard.

According to police, a driver was traveling eastbound on Shea Boulevard when they struck 22-year-old Westin M. L'Heureux and kept on driving. 

L'Heureux was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

Authorities say when the victim was struck by the car he was on the ground in the roadway. No word as to why he in the road at this time.

Police are still looking for the driver. Witnesses told Scottsdale police the vehicle involved was a van or SUV. Investigators believe it iis possible the person did not realize they hit L'Heureux
