Skateboarder struck and killed while riding in north Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Police said an 18-year-old on a skateboard has died after he was struck by a vehicle on Thursday morning in Scottsdale.

The skateboarder, later identified as Austin Dallman, was apparently traveling westbound on Shea Blvd. in the roadway, police said, when he was struck by a vehicle that was also traveling westbound near 128th Street.

Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

Through the investigation, detectives now believe that there may have been a second vehicle - a dark colored SUV - in the in the area at the time of the crash.

The Scottsdale Police Department is asking that anyone with information on the SUV to call 480-312-7218.
