Officials say the driver who hit a pedestrian Friday morning has been arrested and charged.
Scottsdale police responded to the intersection of 75th Street and Indian School around 6:30 a.m. Investigators say a pedestrian was crossing Indian School against the light when he was hit by a sedan traveling eastbound.
Scottsdale police said a man was transported to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said the driver, identified as 32-year-old Jon Harris, was impaired at the time of the crash and was arrested at the scene.
He is charged with DUI and aggravated assault.
Indian School Road was closed in both directions between Miller Road and Drinkwater Boulevard for about four hour but has since reopened.
