Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers have taken a 20-year-old man into custody after he reportedly pulled a gun on a trooper during a traffic stop.

The incident started around 1:30 a.m. near the Loop 101 and Indian School Road in the West Valley

The motorist who was pulled over reportedly pulled a gun on the trooper and fled the area down Indian School Road into Scottsdale.

The officer was heard over law enforcement radio traffic saying, "I just had a guy pull a gun on me."

DPS confirms Ishmael Hill was taken into custody in Mesa after some sort of incident in Scottsdale near Granite Reef and Indian School.

"He pulled something on me and I heard a click," the trooper said. "Like, there wasn't one in the chamber."

Many details of the incident have not yet been released from DPS.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said Hill was booked for unlawful flight from law enforcement.

DPS, Scottsdale Police, Phoenix Police and Mesa Police all worked on the search for the suspect which lasted more than an hour.
