SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A deadly motorcycle-involved crash shut down a portion of Loop 101 near McDowell Road early Friday morning.
The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes near McDowell Road.
According to Arizona Department of Public Safety officials, a woman driving a motorcycle was struck by another vehicle from behind. A second vehicle also struck the rider after she was ejected from the bike.
The victim, 24-year-old Yarinet Rodriguez-Flores of Phoenix, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Multiple witnesses say Rodriguez-Flores was traveling at slow speeds, around 40 miles per hour, in the center lane when the crash occurred.
It's unknown whether impairment was a factor in the crash, and officials are still investigating the circumstances.
