Police body camera footage provides a better picture of the controversial handling of a fatal accident in Paradise Valley.

ABC15 first reported on the controversy last week. The video, 911 calls and police reports for the auto-pedestrian crash were obtained through a public records request Monday.

The daughter of a Paradise Valley town councilman was behind the wheel of a car that hit a senior citizen crossing the road at Invergordon and Horseshoe roads on November 15, 2015. Howard Brown, 77, died.

The driver, Paige Dembow, 20, daughter of Councilman Paul Dembow, has been in trouble with the law before. In this case, officers questioned her on the scene. They later reported that she did not seem impaired. They concluded Brown may have not looked before crossing the street with his dog, and Paige could not stop in time due to the wet road.

Paul Dembow appeared at the accident scene and spoke to at least one officer. He did not appear to identify his position, nor did the officer seem to recognize him in the video released to ABC15. The video did contain some redactions. Police say they were necessary to protect private information such as addresses, phone numbers, and medical information.

Paige Dembow was never charged or ticketed in relation to the accident.

Brown's family believes Paige was let go without proper scrutiny.
