The Phoenix Police Department worked to collect old dynamite in a neighborhood on Saturday afternoon near the Paradise Valley Mall.

Police said their bomb squad was assisting and taking the proper standard precautions with the device, which was located inside a house near 44th Street and Evans Drive.

The dynamite was found in the home of someone who had recently passed away. People who were cleaning out the house found the dynamite, police say.

Fortunately, officials were able to safely remove the dynamite and the scene was cleared around 9 p.m. Saturday.

No one was injured.
