Authorities have announced the arrest of a convicted sex offender who has been on the run for more than two months.

The Arizona Attorney General's Office said in a news release Chad Andrew Berkley was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Arivaca, a Pima County town about 11 miles from the border with Mexico.

Berkley currently faces charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and has been wanted since he failed to appear at a January 26 status conference hearing.

Last year, authorities indicted Berkley on 12 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. Prosecutors say he downloaded child pornography and stored those images on his cell phone and Google account.

He was released after posting a $11,000 bond. A new bond of $500,000 has been set and is currently being held in the Pima County Jail.

Berkley previously pleaded guilty to a sexual offense involving a child in 2005.
