Crews shut down Interstate 10 in both directions near San Simon due to blowing dust.
About 60 miles of the freeway are closed, with eastbound traffic stopped at milepost 352 east of Willcox and westbound traffic stopped near Lordsburg, N.M.
Traffic was detoured in a 104-mile route via the US 191 and US 70.
The roads have since reopened.
