An attempted robbery quickly escalated into an deputy-involved shooting at a Walgreens in Tucson Tuesday.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said a white man in his 30's entered the Walgreens pharmacy at Ina and Oracle after noon. The man jumped over the pharmacy counter and demanded Percocet.
Deputies arrived on scene within two minutes and chased the man around the store while more deputies surrounded the store outside, said Nanos. The man ran out of the store and turned the corner to where a deputy was waiting with a rifle in hand.
Nanos said the deputy fired one shot because the man was a perceived threat.
The suspect was taken to Banner University Medical Center and his condition is unknown at this time. No deputies were injured.
