An 18-year-old Tucson student appeared in court today on a terrorism charge after allegedly making online threats to his school.

Arturo Gil plead not guilty in court after authorities arrested him in mid-November. Tucson Police says Gil posted a threat to Facebook against his school, the STAR Academic Center.

Sunnyside School District officials confirmed to ABC15's sister station KGUN9, that Gil is a student at the school.

On November 15, a Facebook user going by the name "Jihadi Jim" threatened a mass shooting and bombing at the STAR center the next day.

This prompted school officials to cancel class while police did a security sweep of the school.

Police did not find anything, but served a search warrant later that day at a home near the school and that led to the arrest of Gil.

He was arrested on terrorism and hoax, both felonies.

Gil is out on bond. His next court appearance is in early January.
