PCSO: Burned human remains found in desert southeast of the Valley

QUEEN VALLEY, AZ — Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after human remains were found southeast of the Valley.

Officials say human remains appeared to be burned and were found in a desert area east of Queen Valley on Thursday, February 1.

The remains were turned over to the Pinal County Medical Examiner for autopsy.

The remains were later identified as 34-year-old Nicoleta Hamlett. An exact cause of death hasn't been revealed.

Authorities are looking to speak with anyone who might know of her whereabouts leading up to when she was found. She was known to frequent the downtown Phoenix and Tempe areas.
