A homeless man in his late twenties was arrested on suspicion of stabbing another man several times in Maricopa.
According to Pinal County Sheriff's Office, a man identified as Ragon Sandoval was going up to homes late Thursday night near Salmonson and Papago roads asking for help. He reportedly claimed to have been assaulted by a group of men.
When deputies arrived, a resident in the area directed them to a 39-year-old man lying on a porch who had stab wounds to his chest and abdomen. The man was flown to a Phoenix-area hospital where he is still in critical condition.
Fortunately, before the victim was taken to the hospital, he gave officials information about a man named "Ragon" who stabbed him.
This led deputies to the 28-year-old suspect who was located nearby in an abandoned shack. He told officials that he was attacked by a group of men in the street and he stabbed one of them while defending himself.
Ragon is being held in jail for aggravated assault.
