Pinal County Sheriff's officials say a suspect is in stable condition after a deputy-involved shooting on Sunday night.

According to PCSO, callers in the Colonia Del Sol Mobile Home Park in Casa Grande reported a man with a metal pole and flashlight allegedly trying to get into homes before 10 p.m.

A deputy responded and found the suspect carrying a large wooden stake. Despite commands to stop, the suspect reportedly threatened the deputy with the stake and continued toward him, forcing the deputy to use a Taser.

The suspect continued coming toward the deputy in a threatening manner despite being Tased, so the deputy fired three shots with a handgun.

The suspect was taken to the hospital after receiving emergency treatment on scene. The suspect, who has yet to be named, is expected to fully recover.

The deputy was not injured.
