Authorities in south-central Arizona have discovered what appear to be human remains in the desert.
The Casa Grande Dispatch reports that the Pinal County Sheriff's Office confirmed Wednesday that the remains were found near Red Rock in the southern part of the county.
A hunter called the sheriff's office Tuesday after seeing what he believed to be human remains.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Navideh Forghani says she cannot say if the bones were buried or left on the desert surface. The cause of death was not immediately clear.
The Pinal County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death as well as the identity if possible.
