The Arizona Department of Transportation said the westbound lanes of I-10 were closed north of Casa Grande just before 7:30 p.m. due to a crash on Thursday night.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said a mattress flew out of the back of a pickup truck traveling eastbound, causing an SUV behind to swerve.
The SUV crossed the median, crashing head-on into a van headed westbound before rolling onto its side.
DPS says the driver of the SUV, Cenda Ramos, 25, from Casa Grande, died at the scene.
