Authorities on the manhunt for sexual assault suspect in Casa Grande

Authorities are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a woman in Casa Grande early Thursday morning.

A woman called 911 after an unknown suspect came into her room at the Quality Inn Hotel near Florence Boulevard and Henness Road.

The 35-year-old victim told police that the man entered her hotel room and sexually assaulted her. He left the room immediately afterward and the woman did not recognize him.

Police have been unable to locate the suspect as of Thursday afternoon.

On Friday, police interviewed hotel staff and guests who stayed there on Wednesday to see if they noticed anything unusual. They've also been combing their video surveillance of nearby businesses. 

Resident Alyssa Kieser says they're concerned that the suspect has not been located.

"It takes someone with a lot of issues to have to do something like that," Kieser said. 

She explained that when shared the sketch of the suspect as soon as she saw it on social media.

"It's frightening," she said. "I live here and if they haven't found him yet I wonder what he's going to do next."

He’s described as being Hispanic, early to mid-30s, between 5’5” and 5’11”, thin build with black hair and a black mustache. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue button down shirt, white undershirt, and dark jeans.

The woman also told officers that the suspect had a deep voice.

It's unknown if the man lives in the area of was just passing through on Interstate 10.
