"I can confirm that there was a very serious bus accident at Amy Beverland this afternoon. There are injuries that are reported but I have yet to get all of the details. Please bear with us and either myself or someone from central office will get back with you," Dana Altemeyer with Lawrence Township School District said in a statement.

According a statement on the Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township's website, a staging area has been set up at the south end of the school for parents. They may park at the ELC-AB and come over to Amy Beverland if they want to pick up their student.

More than 800 kids from first through sixth grades attend Amy Beverland Elementary School.
