The Navajo Nation is implementing weekend curfews amid an increase of coronavirus cases.

Officials made the announcement of the Public Health Order on Thursday, saying the Navajo Nation would be going under 57-hour curfews between July 3-6, July 10-13, and July 17-20.

Residents are asked to only leave their residences to perform “essential activities” related to health, safety and welfare.

Public gatherings of more than five people should also be avoided.

Daily curfew hours are from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

These curfews have also been implemented in April, May and June in an effort to restrict the movement and contact of those within the Navajo Nation.
