Aww! Dogs prove what true friendship looks like

A pair of Washington dogs are showing the internet what true friendship really looks like.

The Vashon Island Pet Protectors group says Tillie and Phoebe went missing on September 7, likely stuck in a building or in a remote area.

One week later, they received an interesting call from an area resident who was being regularly visited by an unknown "reddish" pup.

Turns out, Tillie was stopping by Joe Curiel's property each day -- as a "call for help" -- before returning to a nearby ravine.

When VIPP volunteers made their way to the area, they began their search, calling out for Tillie. Soon enough, they heard a bark in response, and found her hovering over a cistern -- watching over Phoebe.

VIPP says both pups are now safe and sound, serving as "a humbling example of the power of love."
