A runaway cow stampeded through Jamaica, Queens in New York City this afternoon for at least a half hour before being captured by police, officials said.

Police say the first call about the cow on the lam came in around 12:15 p.m.
The heifer was cornered in a parking garage before being captured by police using a rope and led into a trailer, a police spokesman told ABC News.

The cow escaped from a slaughterhouse in the area and was being returned there.
Police say there were no injuries or reported property damage.
