If you have to pay incomes tax, well, on this first day to file, at least you may have some free options.
The IRS website shows more than a dozen companies offering free federal filing.
And if you make less than $62,000 and meet other qualifications, there could also be free state filing.
The ArizonaDepartment of Revenue also offers free filing options if you qualify.
And the Volunteer Income TaxAssistance Program (VITA) offers free tax preparation around the Valley if you make less than $54,000 and qualify.
