A Gilbert man already scheduled to be sentenced for working as an unlicensed contractor was arrested again on Tuesday morning while working on another residence in Mesa, according to the Arizona Registrar of Contractors (AZROC).

Lance Wills, 42, was taken into custody on a warrant issued for failure to pay court-ordered restitution in a 2014 unlicensed contracting case, the agency said.

The Let Joe Know team has been tracking Wills since his 2016 indictment which accused him of taking nearly $150,000 in contract jobs, often not finishing or abandoning them. He pleaded guilty to theft in the case and is awaiting sentencing on October 18.

At least one sub-contractor let me know Wills never paid him for thousands of dollars worth of work he performed.

Wills' contracting license was revoked in 2008. Since then the AZROC says it has investigated 20 cases involving him. The agency says 15 of those cases have been referred for prosecution. He has pleaded guilty to contracting without a license in 2013, 2015, and 2015. In March 2018, Wills also pleaded guilty to fraudulent schemes.
