Larry Fitzgerald picked up the tab for everyone that walked through the doors of Casella’s Deli in Scottsdale from noon to 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
The move was all to raise money for the deli’s terminally ill owner, 79-year-old Joe Casella.
Joe and Tina Casella opened Casella’s Italian Delicatessen nearly four decades ago in 1977 on the southeast corner of Granite Reef Road and McDonald Drive. In the time since, the Casella’s have become icons in the Scottsdale community.
.“Joe and his family are such a big part of the community and a true example of a family-run restaurant that cares about their neighbors and community,” Fitzgerald said
For those who could not make it to the deli, donations are still being accepted by mail at 5905 N. Granite Reef Road.
